The Liberators, the flagship title for Lone Gunman Media, is finally available to the public! Written by Spirit Equality (A. Page) and illustrated by Black August, with a cover illustration from Nigerian painter Aniekan Udofia, The Liberators # 1 special deluxe edition will knock your socks off! The story follows four young folks who decide to take the future of their community in their own hands, battling crooked cops, drug dealers and dirty politicians in Center City, which could be Any City USA.
The deluxe edition is larger than traditional comic book size and was limited to a printing of just THIRTY TWO issues. Roughly a third of the available copies were sold at the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, a comics convention centered on African-American themed comics (whose special guest this year was the lovely Nichelle Nichols, best known for her role as Uhura on Star Trek, a.k.a the most famous black female character in science fiction).
